O’s Sweep Texas in Best Road Performance in a Decade—Managerial Job Rumored to be Showalter’s

What team were we watching this weekend? Timely hitting, strong bullpen good starting pitching—-will the real Orioles please stand up.  Apparently we might have a new manager by Friday. ESPN.com reports:

Buck Showalter, the heavy favorite to become the Baltimore Orioles‘ next manager, met again with the team this weekend, a person familiar with the talks told ESPN The Magazine’s Buster Olney.  Showalter, currently an analyst for ESPN, has spoken with Orioles owner Peter Angelos multiple times since the team fired Dave Trembley on June 4 and replaced him with interim manager Juan Samuel.  Showalter has won Manager of the Year twice, in 1994 with the New York Yankees and in 2004 with the Texas Rangers.
