Doc and Joe Cinofsky Leading USA Defense in World Championship Lacrosse tournament

The 2010 FIL World Championships are underway in Manchester, England and several former Terps have made contributions for their teams.

Former Terp All-Americans Joe Cinosky and Brian Doc Doughtery are looking to help Team USA regain the gold medal for the United States. The Stars & Stripes are 2-1 through its first three games with Dougherty starting all three games in goal. In the US’s 21-5 win over Australia, Dougherty allowed just four goals, while making eight saves in three quarters of play. Dougherty gave up all 10 goals with seven saves in the 10-9 defeat to Canada in a preview of the likely gold medal game. Dougherty started the team’s third game, but played just one quarter of the 22-4 pasting of Germany. Cinosky, who is making his first appearance on the US National Team, has seen significant time in each of the three games and has picked up two penalties.
