Showalter 1-0 as O’s win Behind Guthrie

I still am impressed that Showalter said that there is talent on this team. I wonder why MacPhail didn’t realize that when he traded Huff.  Thank goodness MacPhail didn’t dump the team as he has done in the past. O’s 6 Angels 3. Guthrie gets the win and Simon the save. FYI : Bell 2 run double tonight –Miggy homered for San Diego.

just to recap huff’s numbers were considerably down from his first yr in balt. was traded to det where he stunk, became a free agent and was signed as an afterthought by s.f. in other words once becoming a free agent after leaving det no one showed interest in huff until s.f. did late in the process. again please stick to sports you know like girls field hockey and hop scotch.

    I love your MD comments.
However, sometimes, your comments on the O’s baffle me.
Aubrey Huff, is a different player year to year.
He hit what, 079 after the trade?

SHerrill, is 31 or 32 and has an ERA of like 15.
The O’s, need 25 players. NEITHER of those 2, or Miggy, or any other player over 28,29, or 30, will be here, or anywhere maybe, when the O’s are ready to make a move at competing.
WHy hang on to them, when they have value to get a mid-level prospect or more, and upgrade?
    Thats just dumb.
They need to collect about 15-16 players, in their OWN system through drafting, and/or trading, UNDER the age of about 27, and get them all on the same level and starting to win.
THEN, you grab 2 or 3 All-Star caliber players to pepper in there either in the rotation or line-up, and then 5 filler players as good as is available.
THATS how you get where you are trying to go.

    Macphail knows this.
Huff, SHerrill, Miggy, and whoever else, doesn’t factor into that equation.
