Terps Defeat Georgetown 2-1 in Friendly

The No. 6 Maryland men’s soccer concluded its preseason with a win, 2-1, Saturday night against Georgetown in front of a crowd of 3,018 at Ludwig Field. Matt Kassel picked up his second goal of the preseason when his strike from 19 yards in the fifth minute blasted past Georgetown keeper Matt Brutto to his right. Jason Herrick was awarded the assist on the play. Patrick Mullins tacked on the Terrapin lead at 72:03 with a midrange diving header off a beautifully-served ball from Doug Rodkey.
