It was great to cover a game for Maryland last night after the week of Coaching conjecture. The Men’s bball team responded with a crushing defeat of the Highlanders from New Jersey. Maryland was coming off a 10 day break after it’s opening ACC loss to BC. Gary place Pe”shon in the starting lineup giving Cliff Tucker a seat on the bench for but a few minutes. Gary said that PeShon deserved the starting nod because of his ferocious play in practice. Perhaps alternating PeShon and Terrell Stoglin at the point with Adrian at the 2 might be formula Gary has been looking for. Adrian had a nice game scoring 13 including 3 threes. It’s just hard to tell if the guys were more comfortable in this rotation or itf they were just vastly superior in talent. Some observations:
Sean Mosley brought tremendous energy to Comcast tonight with 2 brilliant fast break blocks. Sean wound up with 11 points on 4-5 shooting.
Jordan Williams –14 points and 12 rebounds–another double double –what can we say?
Dino Gregory had another great game scoring 14 with 9 bounds. Dino has developed a little perimeter jump shot that when left alone , he is deadly.
Padgett had 10 points in 13 minutes, not missing from the field.
The Terps has there best shooting night of the season. 30-53 from the field, 9-15 from the three point line, and 20-26 from the foul line.
It will be interesting to see if Gary starts PeShon again next wednesday night against North Florida.
FREDDY FROM BOCA
on the same night md was hosting njit, a highly recognizable college with a storied basketball program, mich st was hosting texas. stop playing so many “little sisters of the poor” and play good teams more often. the team isn’t going to get better playing poor competition. posner could have scored 10 last night. wayne “the spain” berger could have gone for a double double last night. g-d knows i would have lit it up for 35.

The problem is, when ever they play halfway solid competition, Mosely, Tucker, and Bowie vanish like a David Copperfield trick.
Until they play even halfway decent in a real game, I will be a pessimist. I still see that BC loss as a huge, HUGE, problem.
They have no consistent scoring threat on the perimeter, or a guy who can create his own shot.
