Look, it’s tough to look great against such a bad team as Wake Forest. But the bottom line is that Maryland desparately needed a win and they won relatively easy. Let’s look at the highs and lows of the win.
Game in , game out Dino Gregory is providing tremendous energy. Whereas originally his presence in the starting lineup might have been questioned, it’s obvious on this team that is exactly where he belongs. as Wake bit into the l;ead it was Dino who provided the key buckets to start the 15-0 run that put the game away.
Cliff Tucker came off the bench to score 21 and lead the team to victory. Jordan Williams had an off night going 2-13 from the field. Yet he recorded his 10th straight double double as he finished with 13 points and 15 rebounds.
Terrell Stoglin continued his struggles from the field as he went 1-9 and finished with only 2 points. PeShon was certainly more effective at the point. Freshman scorers often have trouble on the road. Look for Terrell to burst into double figures when he returns to Comcast. It just seems that Paulson and Howard being from big time programs, are just more comfortable in the big time environment.
So Maryland is now 11-5 with a huge opportunity against Villanova on Saturday. It is definitely time for a marquis win for the program.
The Terps provided the formula for victory over the Blue Devils according to a postgame interview with FSU coach Leonard H. Play with intensity and confidence. Of course it helps to have Chris Singleton on your team as well.
Had to have this win. The zone gave Jordan problems. He has to hit his free throws like this night in and night out. Cliff seems to either be real good or no where to be seen. Hopefully he gets into a groove. Is Stoglin know for being a three point threat? Cause I haven’t seen it so far this year. Overall really good defensive effort and a much needed ACC win.
They still need the next 2 to get back on a Tourney path.
They need the QW over Nova.
That sure didnt look like a vary good team playing a “must win” game.
Mosely and Bowie might be the 2 worst shooters in D-1.
Very good, not vary. sorry.
