Uh Oh—History Repeats Itself as Terps Let Game Get Away Late–HoKies 91 Terps 83–Magnificent Effort by Terrell Stoglin Wasted

Some observations of a VERY disappointing loss at the Cassel in Blacksburg.

—10 Wins in the conference is going to be a tough task. Whereas I expect the Terps to win their final 3 homes against UVA, NC State, and FSU without Chris Singleton, winning the last 2 road games is a tall task. Carolina is suddenly playing like a top team and Maryland always has trouble in Coral Gables. Therefore with 8 or 9wins in the conference we might have to get to Sunday in the ACC tourney to make it to the dance.

—Malcolm Dulaney was 3-14 from the field. Note that he is not on the mock draft draft list at nbadraft.net. Certainly , he will play in Europe.

—Terrell Stoglin was special even in defeat, scoring 25 on 7-12 sooting. No one on the Hokies could keep up with him. As time goes on Terrell and PeShon will be a formidable backcourt.

—The team shot 21-24 from the foul line.

—Trying to take the Hokies out of their transition game, Gar y played a zone for most of the game.

—Jeff Allen and Vic Davila were a combined 14-23 from the field. Jeff Allen certainly reminds one of Trevor Booker, from Clemson

—It is amazing how each loss almost follows the same script.

—Next up fror the Terps is the Wolfpack Sunday night at 5:30. Greivis’ jersey will be lifted to the top  in his honor.

well we shot free throws well. actually had a plan to attack the zone. only took the coaching staff 3 months to get to that. stogs and pe shon played well. tucker’s 3 late in the game which was 3/4’s in and came out along with dino and stogs lay ups which failed hurt badly late in the game. beginning of the game it looked like vt would win by 30. again md starts off slow. vt hit almost 40% from 3 making 9 trays while md shoots about 29% making 4 3’s. vt’s offensive rebounding in teh second half made md look silly. bowie and moseley..both who have had disappointing yrs were lousy last night. and vt got way too many baskets inside. davila and green overpowered gregory and williams. md will win sunday (my birthday). matter of fact md has had some nice wins on my birthday. last yr with tucker’s miracle 3 at the buzser vs g tech and of course yrs ago the win in the dean dome featuring bias’ reverse dunk of a steal of the inbounds pass as md went on to defeat carolina which was the tar heels first loss ever in the smith center. terps need an amazing run in the acc tourney to get an ncaa bid. 10 conference wins won’t do it with the acc down this yr
