2012 QB Caleb Rowe Verbals to Maryland—VIDEO

Caleb is 6’3 from South Carolina. here is what ESPN.com has to say:

Rowe is one of those guys that you can’t help but like. You just wish he had better measurables as he is on the shorter side, but you respect his scrappy competitiveness, heady pocket presence and more than adequate athleticism to keep plays alive. He is lean and wiry, lacks bulk and needs to get bigger. He possesses a quick trigger and the ball comes out clean and compact. He plays in the shotgun spread offense which is perfect for him because the scheme enhances his vision with changed launch points and quick hitters in the passing game. Ball pops off his hand and he can make throws to all three levels of the field especially when on time. Zip and velocity is impressive and he can fit the ball into tight spots underneath. He understands the offense, buys time, creates second chances and has a knack for keeping plays alive when things break down. Shows good overall athleticism and terrific feet. Makes a lot of plays on the move. Can throw off balance and across his body. He is tough scrappy and plays with a chip on his shoulder which we really like about him. His height without question is a concern as is his overall bulk and weight. He could really get bounced around if he takes a clean shot and durability could be a concern at the next level. Rowe does “cup” the ball some and can have an awkward appearance to his delivery at times. He lacks an elite vertical arm, but compensates in other areas. We like his intangibles and feel for the game. His size and skill set will likely see him garner FCS and non-BCS FBS attention. Quality prospect with redeeming qualities.
