Fifth-year senior goalkeeper Melissa Vassalotti of the Maryland field hockey team has been named the ACC Field Hockey Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday. She led No. 3 Maryland (11-1, 4-0 ACC) to a 2-1 win at No. 8 Duke (8-5, 2-2 ACC) Saturday. In the win over the Blue Devils, she notched seven saves – one shy of her career high. After the Terps took a one-goal lead with just under 10 minutes remaining, Vassalotti notched three of her saves in the final 8:15 to preserve the win.
