I would not want to guess what the crowd was at Byrd yesterday butto those who sat through that game in those conditions, I take my hat off to you. Yes this game was very disappointing so I am not going to dwell on it.
The slow start burned the Terps again as before you could blink your eyes Maryland was down 14-3. BC ran through the Terps time and time again with gargantuan holes opened up by the offensive line.
Bright spots—the appearance of Adrian Coxson in the lineup and his abiiity not to join hte drop brigade. I know Danny wasn’t tremendously sharp but he has about 8 of his passes dropped. When will this end?
Maryland squandered several opportunities including 2 missed FGs that were basically chip shots. The BC missed 2–35 yd FGs as well. The conditions obviously didn’t lend themselves to placekicking.
Dave Megget rushed for over 100 yards.
Here’s Danny’s comments post game:
On sharing time with quarterback C.J. Brown:
“That’s what Coach [Edsall] wants and that’s what we’re going to do. C.J. [Brown] and I have never been guys to use that as an excuse. We both realize that we have both played in big games and we can both lead this team to victory. When [C.J. Brown] is in, I am his biggest fan and I’m his eyes on the sideline, and vice versa. So, we really don’t think too much about how it is affecting us. It’s just about going in there and doing what both of us are capable of doing.”
On turning the season around:
“All we can do is get ready for Virginia. We realize that our backs are kind of against the wall now in terms going to a bowl game. You can’t win four [games] before you win one, so we’ve got to beat Virginia this week. They’re a very good opponent. I watched them on TV this week and they’re definitely going to be pretty good. We can’t feel sorry for ourselves at all. We have a lot of talent on this team and it’s just a matter of going out and playing.”
On the adverse weather conditions:
“[The conditions] made it tougher. When that ball is all muddy and sandy, it’s really hard to both throw and catch and I think that affected us a little bit. But [Boston College] was playing in the same elements that we were, so we’re not going to hang the loss on that.”
For BC, Finch ran for 247 of the 382 rushing yards.
I do believe that going forward Danny will be back st the helm.
Next up UVA next Saturday at 12:30.
As I said on the Sports Maven this morning the USC-Stanford would be one of the best games games of the year and yes I was right!!! Stanford won in triple OT 56-48. As usual Andrew Luch was superb at QB.

I wonder if Edsall’s contract is gauranteed. He’d be a great coach at a 1-AA school.
He isn’t going to be able to do what is nec. at a high major.
This was a 9-4 team. Half the players have quit.
The QB situation is laughable.
The whole scheme is so Division 2. Gimmick.
He may not win his 10th game, until his 4th season.
The worst thing I keep hearing is, this is only half his recruiting class.
Well, next years is no where even near the top 35.
Another bunch of slow and unathletic recruits.

finch, who is b.c’s back-up tailback, had gained about 260 yds in b.c.’s first 6 games. for all intense and purposes the game was over a half time. can’t figure out why on 2 occasions down by 18 with the ball in the red zone md. didn’t go for a t.d.’s on 4th down instead of going for fg’s. the school should have rewarded every fan there with a free ticket to another game, though I’m not so sure that would be a reward or some kind of cruel joke. right now notre dame on national t.v. is md’s bowl game and a win against the irish would help make a terrible season a little more palatable.

in regards to usc stanford. luck was no better than barkley of usc last night. and overtime in college football is a joke. starting at the 25. play the game like you play the first 60 minutes.
