Sophomore Alyssa Thomas of the seventh-ranked Maryland women’s basketball ball (18-3, 5-3 ACC) was named to the John R. Wooden Midseason Top 20 list released this weekend. She is one of just six underclassmen to be in the hunt for the most prestigious honor in college basketball.
Thomas is the ACC’s leading scorer with her 17.3 points per game and 19.3 points per contest in league games. The forward from Harrisburg, Pa. is third in the ACC with her free throw percentage of .850, No. 7 in the league in rebounds (7.7), and No. 8 in assist/turnover ratio (1.6).
