Brenda Frese named Regional Coach of the Year

 Head coach Brenda Frese of the Maryland women’s basketball team was named a WBCA Regional Coach of the Year for Region 2 Thursday. The honor makes her one of eight finalists for WBCA Division I Coach of the Year as voted by her peers.

Frese and the second-seeded Terrapins (30-4) will take on third-seeded Texas A&M (24-10) in the Raleigh Regional Semifinal at noon. The game will be shown on ESPN and online on ESPN3.com

Now in her 13th season overall and 10th at Maryland, Frese owns an overall record of 308-115 (.728). In her time in College Park, her record is 251-85 (.747). She was named AP National Coach of the Year in 2002.
