UVA was up 2-0 today when Terp middie John Haus fired in a shot from the left side. (In my opinion) way after the shot left his stick a Virginia defender delivered what seemed to be a late cheap shot to John–helmet to head. The penalty a one minute releaseable foul. What was luckily avoided–perhaps a concussion to John Haus. Look this play happens a lot in lacrosse but this particular hit was clearly late and seemingly unnecessary.
Last week after one of the Maryland players delivered a similar late hit on a Tar Heel late in the game–Coach Tillman suspended him way before any NCAA decision. I would hope expect Coach Starsia will review the play and if he deems it was late and excessively violent would do the same. It is far better for the Coaches to stop these hits before someone suffers a concussion type trauma.
If you saw the play and think I am overreacting let me know in the comment section.

uhh.. he was suspended for fighting.. by the ACC.. you are overreacting. No punches were thrown, no suspensions should be given

No question, it was high, late and unnessary.
