Take that Inside Lacrosse!!!!
Owen Blye scored 4 times in the 2nd half to propel the Terrapins to what I call the “sweetest ” victory you can imagine at Homewood Field Tonight.
What a magic atmosphere it was!! The announced crowd of 8500 was more like 11,000 with thousands lining the fences and hundreds trying to get in.
Among the attendees were Bill Bellichick and the #1 NFL Coach in the land John Harbaugh. Former Terps were scattered all over the Stadium including the Miami Dolphins’ Will Yeatman and the Long Island Lizards Ryan Young.
I thought the new Pride unis were super looking!!!
Maryland was the desperate team tonight and they played like it—never wilting and coming from behind twice at 2-0 and 6-3. Defensive Coach Kevin Warne has his guys sliding and creating confusion amongst the Hopkins vaunted attack and midfield. Can you imagine the Blue Jays being shut down at Homewood for the final 29 minutes.
Listen to Maryland’s press conference Memo-7 Let’s face it, Tillman had these guys ready for battle and in the long run capture a huge victory moving to Maryland to 7-3 overall with 3 quality top ten wins.
I watched the replay when I got home and couldn’t help but notice Eamon referring to the Terps fogo as Joe Cummings. C’mon man!!!
Though Hopkins won the face-off war, Maryland won the toughness battle. Hopkins is still 9-2 with a great winning resume. Coach Pietramala commented on his disappointment post game Memo-6 It seems like he thought Hopkins was playing tight down the wire.
The big winner tonight was Baltimore Lacrosse. This game belongs on the campuses. Homewood was buzzing and it was all about lacrosse. MEMO to my Hopkins buddies—-sorry but today we watched Maryland “play like Terps!!!!!” Yes there is a huge smile across my face!!!
