the big story is the orioles honoring frank robinson. is frank in the discussion for one of the greatest players of all time. one of the things that hurts robby in the “greatest” discussion is the lack of a strong arm which he injured early in his career. no one played the game harder, he had great power, hit for average, was a great leader. playing his best years in cinc and balto worked against him since there was no espn, mlb.com and internet at the time. is he in the same class as ruth, aaron, cobb, williams, mays, mantle, gehrig, hornsby, mathewson, johnson, koufax, musial? probably not but just a little below..probably in the top 25 of all players. not to shabby considering how many have played the game for over 100 years. more in the class of clemente, dimaggio, foxx, greenberg, brooks, schmidt, yaz, bench, berra, griffy jr.
