Bayhawks Acquire Nicky Polanco for the Rights To CJ Costabile

The Long Island Lizards have dealt perennial all-star Nicky Polanco to the Chesapeake Bayhawks in a deal that gives Long Island the rights to Duke long-stick midfielder C.J. Costabile, multiple sources confirmed to Inside Lacrosse.

The deal ends speculation about Polanco’s future, as the two-time MLL Defensive Player of the Year has not played in the Lizards’ two games this year. It also reunites Polanco with former defensive partner Brian Spallina, who this offseason was picked up by the Bayhawks.

Polanco, a second-round Collegiate Draft pick in 2013, and a second-round Collegiate Draft pick in 2014 will go to the Bayhawks in exchange for the rights to Costabile and a fifth-round draft pick in the 2013 Collegiate Draft.

Comments: The tremendous play of Adam rand at the X position allowed the Bayhawks to trade the long pole specialist.
