Maybe it was the worst kept secret in local football recruiting circles, that before long this summer, FCA standout LB Jermaine Carter would be a Terp.

A half hour ago, the 2013 standout, who now joins three other Friendship Collegiate Academy teammates in the coming class, called Terps head man Randy Edsall to formally pledge after first reaching out to his recruiter, Mike Locksley, last night on social media to tell him he was coming.
But Carter made the final call this morning to Edsall, giving the Terps a ‘four-for-four’ at DC’s top football power.
After Carter was offered by Maryland last month at camp, it was only a matter of time, really, that the ‘Mo’ backer spot would be filled by the athletic tackling machine who some say is the best ‘backer at the DC power. And that’s some stiff competition, given his future Terp teammates, ‘4-star’ LB Yannick Ngakoue and ‘3-star’ standout Cavon Walker, also hail from there.
“I just feel that I can go to Maryland and be most comfortable there….and I was ready to make that decision.”
