Junior Shannon Zickler made four saves in her first collegiate start as the No. 13 University of Maryland women’s soccer team battled to a 0-0 tie at Villanova Sunday afternoon at the Villanova Soccer Complex. The tie gives Maryland to 1-0-1 on the season.
“Overall, this was a solid effort – one that we will learn from and get better from,” said Maryland head coach Jonathan Morgan. “We held the majority of possession and made Villanova chase us and we finished with a 20-12 advantage in shots. We need to be able to put those chances away. And our finishing and confidence in front of the net were not up to the level they needed to be at.
