I remember when I was in elementary school and we had a big after school football game with another class at Cross Country. Each team was allowed to use 1 upper classman (a 6th grader). My class talked the best athlete in the school to play for us and it was no contest. That’s what major league has evolved into–when you trade for a hired gun for a few months. It’s stupid, absurd and made worse by the fact that Ryan Dempster is a Ranger, Ichiro is a Yankee, and Greinke is an Angel.
