Ho hum–Mussina Inducted Into the Oriole Hall of Fame
I never would have voted for him. His departure began the downfall period of the O’s. He chose to go to the Yankees and, he wanted to be a Yankee, so let New York have him. We will find out how much he loved Baltimore if he ever gets into the HOF. His closing comments last night were: “I hope we can get the game in because I don’t like rain.”
mussina who was 147-81 with an era of 3.53 for baltimore left after the 2000 season. in 1998 the o’s were 79-83, 1999 78-84 and in 2000 77-85 so the o’s downfall was well into motion before mussina left. he made the right choice leaving the o’s to play in a place where he had a chance to win. you forget the o’s baseball decisions were being made by angelos. not pat gillick who had left with davey johnson because of angelos.
