No. 1 Maryland pulled out a thrilling 3-2 win in double overtime at No. 11 Stanford Sunday. The Terps trailed through the second half, then Jill Witmer scored to force OT. Katie Gerzabek scored with 24 seconds left in the second OT for the 3-2 win.
“This game was such a great opportunity for us to experience all facets of the game and so many situations,” head coach Missy Meharg said. “Stanford is extremely talented. We pulled our goalie in the final minutes of regulation, scored in the final minutes to force overtime and found a way to win, just a great experience for us so early in the year.”
