UConn Coach Paul Pasqualoni: Kicking the ball to Stefon Diggs, I don’t know what you do. We’re punting the ball and getting great hang-time, he should be fair-catching them and he’s not. He’s giving them field position, and then on the last kickoff, that one got away from us. I thought we got production from all three phases.
Strange game but Terps were down 24-21 and UConn had to punt—to Stefon—The whole stadium is geared for more Stefon magic. But the punt is 15 yards short and Stefon has to fair catch it. Outside of Wes Brown and Stefon, the offense had no rhythm. Wes Brown had 74 yards on 14 carries.Perry Hills rushed 18 times and I haven’t figured out why yet. The offense took its time down the wire–still dont really know why. I did like how Locksley took Perry Hills vertical even though he fired late several times and was unsuccessful. Perry finished the day 10-24 not bad for having been sacked 6 times.
Randy was very emotional post game when talking about the relationships with past players.
The Terps really started slowly today with Perry throwing an interception the next play after Maryland recovered a fumble. Poor puyc¯¯
More tomorrow but tonite I will be brief.

Still say Hills is not the answer. Does not have a strong enough arm, can not fire passes.
Aso the coordinators gave him nothing but a vanilla offense.
Uconn D is very good, and the game plan never attacked it or took advantage of the defense aggression.
Very poor game for Terp coaches.

Flacco was not Flacco Sunday
Perry Hills who arrived on Campus August 4, faced one of the most innovative defensive strategists in College Football–led Maryland to 3 TDs–took 4 incredible hits and threw for a TD and Rushed for a TD—think about it

sacks count as rushes for q.b.
team played hard throughout. that was nice to see.
neither team was very good. crowd was 35,000. that’s about 66-67,000 for first 2 games. people are not real interested.
the terps have 3 special players..diggs, leake, brown. they need to get the ball in their hands much more often. the o line and d line were dominated by u conn. play calling particularly at the end of the game was horrible. who called the last 2 offensive plays for md ?. must have been someone from a psych ward. have to be crazy to call those plays. the 2 min drill seemed liked it was designed so that there were 6 min on the clock. terrible time management. if they want to keep locksley as the o co-ordinator they need to get a qb coach who can call the plays. stop with the option offense they run at times. the o line needs to perfect their blocking for their primary offense before asking them to do something else. plus brown runs best between the tackles. matter of fact it would be nice if the o line blocked just once in a while. how many times did u conn players get in the backfield untouched. the biggest problem is the coaching. thy should get paid strictly by the game and by performance. the athletic dept would have plenty of money if that was the case. yes the terps could be 3-0 against 3 poor teams but they could easily be 0-3. next week wva., first game against a good team. let’s see what happens. only hope wva players hang out with their fans before the game and get drunk, real drunk.

your making don brown into one of the great defensive minds in football. he’s good. that’s it. not great. ya see great defensive coaches don’t wind up at u conn. great football coaches don’t wind up at u conn. md had a real chance to win but very very poor play calling, and very very poor use of the clock took that chance away. the drop on second down didn’t help. don brown’s defense faced a young inexperienced md offense which included freshman qb, freshman running back, freshman receiver and a young inexperienced offensive line with little depth. any decent defense, not exceptionally good, not great just a decent defense would have given md problems. and if don brown and his defense was so great md would never had been in the game. know that i think about it the wm and mary defensive coach must have been great considering md scored more points on the great don brown than bill and mary. and a happy healthy new year to you and yours including your stepsons matt stover, george sherrill and l j hoes.
