In a gesture that is hard to explain, Terrapin great and Ravens wide reciver Torrey Smith elected to play Sunday night after his brother tragically died in a motorcycle accident in the early morning hours Sunday. Torrey informed Coach Harbaugh of the tragedy and the Coach after hearingbukket wounxbbc
In perhaps the most memorable game ever played at M&T Bank Stadium, the Ravens behind the brilliant leadership of Joe Flacco got off the canvas to defeat New England 31-20. The game was exciting for certain but the 25 flags the refs threw and the lack of consistent quality refereeing is doing severe damage to the game. I am not going to get into the calls because there were 25 of them.
Torrey caught 6 passes for 127 yards and 3 Tds’ in a magnificent display. Without Torrey there would be no victory. It broke my heart to watch him teared up on the bench all night. I’ve known what a special kid he was from his days at Maryland but now the whole state knows.
Some questions I would ask:
With the Ravens down 30-21 and facing 4th and 1 from the Patriot 33 why not kick the FG? 2 scores were needed and there was no guarantee that had they made the 1st down a TD would have resulted. And by the way why have Bernard Pierce attempt to run instead of #27.
With the way Brady was carving up the defense why dis it take 3 quarters and 10 minutes to try all out blitzes. They certainly worked down the stretch.
Why didn’t Bellichick use his timeouts down the wire?
Why can’t we play a real no huddle not a slo motion one?
I wonder how much credit #5 gets tomorrow.
Much more tomorrow.

final score 31-30 smith had 2 td’s some words in the blog i think were in russian but nice job of reporting considering you probably go home after 1 am. the idea of the no huddle is to help stop the defense from subbing. if you ran it at top speed all the time physically you wouldn’t last . plus if you go 3 and out a couple of times in a row you kill your defense. there is a time and place for running a hurry up.

Great performance by Joe and Torrey!
Sad that our line backing corps is the weakest in memory. A big concern…
Finally some return threats, which are game changers.
As for the refs, I think the veteran referees on strike are the worst in any major port. Competitive with the MLB home plate umpiring. Both are pathetic.

Do hope someday that out third own passing recognizes the first down markers..
