Some comments on another gut wrenching loss:
To me Caleb Rowe did a great job under the circumstance 23-42 for 240 yds and 2 TDs . Unfortunately the 3 interceptions did him in
Edsall on Caleb: “I thought Caleb did a good job. I thought he competed. You can see the inexperience a little bit. A couple of times, he could have hung in the pocket a little bit more. Two of the picks he had, he was trying to do too much. Take a sack on the first one. On the second one, just run out of bounds, in terms of where we were. And he’ll get better for this and he’ll learn from it.”
Stefon had 11 receptions for 162 yards and a cruching block that was not helmet to helmet or aimed at the head but was ruled unsportsmanlike
Edsall went ballistic when a late vicious hit to the head of Caleb Rowe was ignored by the refs
Vellano and AJ Francis were spectacular but the defense collapsed on the game winning drive
BC was held to a net 8 yards rushing
The Terps had the lead at 17-13 and the ball on BC’s 39 after Vellano caused the fumble—less then 5 minutes remained—yet we still lost
Last 3 Terps losses—UConn by 3, NC State by 2, BC by 3
Terps drop to 4-4 and 2-2 in the Conference
Freshman PK Brendan Magistro replaced Craddock after Craddock missed a 35 yard FG
ESPN 3 ‘s coverage was OK barely
Wes Brown has 23 carries for 80 yards and 0 fumbles but it seemed like he never had a hole to run through
A few too mnay bubble screens early on?
Freshman QB, Freshman WR, Freshman TB, Freshman Tackle (Maderas), Freshman Center (Mulrooney) Freshman Safety (Nixon)–if you look at it that way the loss doesn’t hurt as bad. Yet why am I still up at 3AM thinking about it?
Georgia Tech next Saturday at home

2 weeks in a row the opposition drove down the field in a must score possession to score game winning td’s. do not want to hear how great this defense is or what a great job this defensive coach is. vellano and francis always play really well but need help at crunch time from the rest of the d and better coaching is needed. we make the other team’s qb look like johnny unitas in the last 2 minutes. not crazy about the md playing calling week in and week out. md needs to bring in a qb coach to call the plays. in other words locksley is a great recruiter but not a very good play caller. at least they got the ball in diggs’yesterday. only took 8 games to figure that out. in bc’s last 3 games prior to yesterday’s game they gave up over 1,100 rushing yds. yesterday md couldn’t crack 100 yds rushing and rushed for about 3 yds per attempt. we now play 3 tough teams fl st 8-1 nc 6-3 clemson 7-1 and a bad g tech team 3-5 and if we lose out, which is a possibility we will close the year with 6 straight losses. this year we’ve beaten powerhouse wm and mary, temple 3-4, wake 4-4 and va 2-6. so we haven’t beaten a good team this year. we haven’t beaten a team who currently has a winning record. last yr we beat miami who was missing 7 starters including their starting qb and we beat towson a “small college”. we haven’t beaten a good team since 2010. the bright spots this year are vellano, francis and diggs and wes brown has played o.k. vellano and francis won’t be back next year. at least edsall didn’t throw players under the bus in the press this year so maybe he has learned something about decency and building his players up rather than tearing them down. the good news is…basketball is less than 2 weeks away. the only question there is how many times will bruce call pe (p) shon howard pay shon?

by the way hartsfield has played well.
max
Pretty sure Hartsfield got burned on that first touchdown.

ok max. hartsfield has played pretty well over the course of the year. hard to watch a game on the computer when the audio is ahead of the frozen picture. if only md could freeze the actual play on the field sometimes. let’s face it. you can make xcuses al day. injuries. as if other teams don’t have injuries. true freshman playing. as if other teams don’t play true freshmen. lack of depth. well most coaches don’t run off half their team but all teams lose players for a variety of reasons. the football program as it stands right now is not good. doesn’t mean it can’t and shouldn’t get better but when the big point is the kids played hard and didn’t quit..well that just means we lost again but didn’t get blown out. acc teams were averaging over 40 pts a game vs bc going into yesterday’s game. and something else to think about. diggs is so good it’s hard to imagine him staying after next year.
Bruce
By the way–The Terps allowed 8 yards rushing yesterday and now rank 4th in the nation on rushing defense
fkterp
bruce by the way md gave up another late drive because they couldn’t defend the pass and they lost the game. and the only thing that really matters in football games is you win or you lose

Hartsfield has played well this year but I think Hartsfield struggled yesterday in pass coverage, highlighted by his getting burned.
Jon Mandaville
You remember A. J. Powell, that runing back who didn’t get enough time at Maryland? He transfered to Portland State in the big Sky Conference. This year he’s rushed for around 700 yards so far – our best rusher. At this rate he’s going to be the Big Sky’s best rusher.
