No Quit From the Terps in 45-10 Defeat in Death Valley

5th String QB, No Stefon, No Demetrius, No Wes–what could you expect. What’s important is that the Terps fought all the way through the game .Highlight of the game for the Terps was Dexter ‘s return of the missed FG. BrandonRoss rushed for over 100 yards.

Tajh Boyd threw for 261 yards and three touchdowns in No. 10 Clemson’s 45-10 victory over Maryland on Saturday, the Tigers’ sixth straight and record 12th in a row at Death Valley. Clemson (9-1, 6-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) had little trouble with the banged-up Terps (4-6, 2-4), who again started linebacker Shawn Petty at quarterback because of season-ending injuries to their four scholarship passers. from umterps.com

Coach Randy Edsall said. “I thought we had a good game plan going in. We just didn’t execute it the way we needed to against the talent that they had.”

i guess you can take this comment different ways. i’m sure some fans would say the coach is saying i did my job but the players didn’t. is he saying if the players had followed everything the coach wanted them to do md would have beaten 13th ranked clemson despite the fact we are playing with a true freshman linebacker, who was going to be red shirted, as the qb, missing our best running back, 2 best receivers, best linebacker. if that’s the case md has the greatest coach is sports history dspite the fact he has one win over a top 25 team in his entire coaching career. i just think edsall should just have some basic things to say. like we played hard but the other team was better. the reality is he rarely shows any common sense when he talks to the media. can you imagine where this team would be if not for locksley’s recruiting of diggs and brown. no question the team is playing harder and not giving up.

    Give Edsall a break.
He basically said what you said Fred.
Interesting that once an opinion scenario is established it becomes the rule of the career.
I have not heard one time where Edsall threw his players under the proverbial bus .
Just not used to honesty in appraisals.
He basically said that the players did not perform the game plan, as the other team was better
Do you want him to fall on his sword ?
He has been remarkably upbeat in an unprecedentedly devastating season.
Give him a break! Or better yet a chance, enough breaks for this team…
And yes the 2 top recruits were why Edsall hired Locksley, an executive decision, which you turn into another negative…
