– Freshman Tierney Pfirman of the 10th-ranked Maryland women’s basketball team was voted ACC Rookie of the Week, the league announced Monday.
The forward from Williamsport, Pa. averaged 10.0 points and 3.0 rebounds for the Terrapins, who managed a 2-1 week, highlighted by a conference win over Virginia, 79-55. Against the Cavaliers, in her ACC debut, Pfirman scored 17 points, and added three rebounds and an assist. The native of Williamsport, Pa., followed that up with 11 points and five rebounds in a 50 point win over George Mason to close out the week.
