Patrick Mullins Named NCAA Soccer POY

– Maryland forward Patrick Mullins has been named the 2012 Soccer America Men’s Player of the Year. The junior is the second Terrapin to win the award joining 2005 winner Jason Garey.

Mullins led the Terrapins with 17 goals and 10 assists, including a goal and two assists in the semifinal thriller against Georgetown at the Men’s College Cup in Hoover, Ala.

The New Orleans, La., native, was also named ACC Offensive Player of the Year and most valuable player of the ACC Men’s Soccer Championship after leading the Terps to their third ACC crown in the last five seasons.

A NSCAA First Team All-American, Mullins is one of three finalists for the MAC Hermann Trophy to be presented this Friday at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis.
