Terps sweep Brown, Harvard, and Stanford in Quad Wrestling Meet

Led by two pins from 133-pound Geoffrey Alexander and a three win performance from 184-pound Jimmy Sheptock, the Maryland wrestling team defeated Brown, Harvard and Stanford Saturday afternoon at Comcast Pavilion.

Alexander, ranked 14th nationally, went undefeated in his three matches with two falls and a decision. Seventh-ranked Sheptock also went 3-0 and had one pin, one major decision and a decision. For his effort, Alexander shared the Hudson Taylor Award, which is given to Maryland’s top performer at home duals, with Shane Arechiga, who earned an 11-3 major decision at 149 against Stanford’s Colton Dempsey.

The Terps (9-4) also received strong performances from fifth-ranked Josh Asper at 174, 19th-ranked Christian Boley, Dallas Brown, Frank Goodwin and Lou Mascola. All five wrestlers picked up two victories on Saturday. For Asper, Saturday’s duals marked his first action since the Northeast Duals in November.
