Junior Alyssa Thomas of the 10th-ranked Maryland women’s basketball team was named ACC Player of the Week Monday for the sixth time in her career and second this season.
The reigning ACC Player of the Year averaged 22 points and 13 rebounds in the Terps’ two conference wins this past week. At Virginia Tech Sunday, Thomas scored her season-high 26 points and pulled down a career-high 28 rebounds to go with six assists and three blocks. In Thursday’s game vs. No. 24 Miami, she scored a team-high 18 points with added eight rebounds and five assists in the 84-62 win over the Hurricanes.
