The Pride, Honor and Happiness of the City Is On the Line Tomorrow

Last year after the devastating defeat to New England, the city was in a funk that I really believed existed until the O’s started to make their run to the playoffs. Well here we are again. Many of the Ravens really understand what what this game means to Baltimore.

4 years ago after the bitter championship game loss to the Steelers, I was talking to Coach Harbaugh at a Maryland basketball game. I congratulated him on a great almost season and he responded to me about how upset he was for the people of Baltimore that we couldn’t pull off the win. From that day forward, John Harbaugh has earned by lifelong respect. He gets it for sure. He understands and loves the city and I do believe that this is his driving force.

Ray Lewis understands and respects baltimore. Last year after the heartbreaking loss, he commented that he knows his city always has his back. It has, and always will. When Ray ends his pep talk these days, it’s often with a unison cheer of Baltimore.

Steve Bisciotti our great owner is all about Baltimore. My one conversation with him at a maryland football game was a 30 minute discourse on the Baltimore Colts. Yes he is an extremely successful businessman but he is true sportsman wanting to win for the city at almost any cost.

I. like all of you really want this one tomorrow. Let’s get it on!!!!
