Taters John Weighs In On Duke Game

Bruce,
The first thing I do every morning is get on the computer and dial into Terptalk. I read this morning’s as usual and as usual it was right on. I realize that bad calla by the zebras very seldom ever affect the result of a ball game BUT as a fan that is rooting for any opponent of the Dukies they sure can frustrate you, especially when the opponent is my TERPS. At the very outset of yesterday’s game on Duke’s first two possessions the Terps made two beautiful blocks on Duke shots and what is the call, FOUL on the Terps. It was all ball and even Clark Kellogg questioned where the foul was as it appeared to be clean blocks. Replay verified that fact. Later deep into the second half when the Dukies were piling it on it was so clear that on a Terp shot Plumlee had his hand over the rim and knocked the shot out of the cylinder, no call again and again Clark Kellogg called it as we all saw it, replay verified the missed call. Late in the game, down low Plumlee missed a birdie underneath, went back for the rebound and put it in. One problem, he had his left arm draped over the shoulder of the Terp defender. Again it was obvious !!! Certainly you remember the academy award winner Shane Battier and his famous jumping in front of opposing players and getting all the charge calls when it was definitely blocking on him. It was sickening watching him get away with it ALL the time, Now we have Curry getting away with murder night in and night out. Curry constantly uses his left hand to push the defender out of the way as he goes to the basket. I know others do it but Curry never gets called for it. As the game ended the Dukie IDIOTS were yelling “ so long and good riddance “. Johnny Holiday and Chris Knoche both picked up on it and Johnny had a comment but then gentleman that he is, dropped the subject. Hello Big Ten and Goodbye ACC, I will miss the down south bunch like I would miss a tooth ache.
