Freshman point guard Chloe Pavlech of the 10th-ranked Maryland women’s basketball team was voted ACC Rookie of the Week Monday by the league’s Blue Ribbon Panel.
The rookie from Cincinnati, Ohio has started in 17 games this year at the point guard spot. She was key in the Terps’ 85-59 rout of No. 11 North Carolina Thursday with 18 points, including two threes. Carolina went on an 8-0 run in the first half to lead by one, then Pavlech hit a jumper and her second three to spark a run and take the lead for good with nine minutes to go in the first.
