Some comments on what has to be a most satifying victory for Coach Turgeon:
When I predicted the trifecta of victories last week, I was very confident and still am even though a very hot UVA team comes to Comcast on Sunday. Horrendous foul shooting (10-23) by the Terps prevented this game from being a blowout victory. Also the Terps just can’t get past this turnover problem–15 tonight including 4 by Dez.
Rebounds again went the Terps way 46-38 led by 11 by James Padgett. Padgett had a super game tonight with 8points. He seemed to be in the mix all game.
Alex Len had a quiet performance with 10 points on only 6 shots. For those of you criticizing the mock draft list in Thursday’s terp talk–let me remind you that was not mine mock draft but the strongest one around–nbadraft.net.
Nick started at the point and had 4 points with 4 assists but was 1-6 from the field– a little puzzling for me.
Layman again was the key . In each of the halves Jake came out strong and was the leading scorer for Maryland with 14 points.Mitchell had 9 rebounds but was pretty much invisible on the offense end.
The Terps held the Hokies on 12-42 shooting if you remove Erick Green from the percentages. Green finished with 29 points and is clearly the best scorer in the ACC.
Next up UVA on Sunday afternoon. Only scattered seats remain in the upper deck.
