The No. 4 Maryland women’s lacrosse team picked up its first marquee win of the season with a 19-11 victory at No. 2 Syracuse at the Carrier Dome Sunday.
Katie Schwarzmann tallied a career-high seven goals to lead Maryland (2-0) to another dominant offensive performance. Freshman Taylor Cummings added five goals and a game-high six draw controls. Alex Aust boasted her second four-goal showing of the year as the Terps are averaging 19.5 goals per game through the first two contests of the 2013 campaign.
My take–though I haven’t seen her play at home yet, McDonough’s Taylor Cummings is living up to her rep early on. What a 1-2 punch!!!
