There are things that I know (or at least i think I know) and things I definitely do not know.
I know Coach K will be out for blood tomorrow night. Whatever crazies that make the trek to “Neutral” Greensboro will be instructed into doing the “We won’t miss you ” chant and ACC all night. The arena will gang up against the Terps because the hatred for Maryland now supersedes the hatred for Duke. The dogs will never be pulled back no matter what the score is. Coach K was miserable when the Blue Devils defeated maryland at Durham and really miserable when the Terps embarrassed Duke at College Park.
I know PeShon had his best game of the year last night. He looked like and played like a real guard. 3-3 frm the field, 2 assists AND BUT 1 TURNOVER IN 27 MINUTES.
I know I saw a great pick and roll executed by Seth and Alex in the 2nd half.
I know that deep in my heart , I still keep hoping for the miracle run to the ACC Title. I know (and only hope it happens) that I will kick myself in the butt if we pull the upset tomorrow and I am not in Greensboro. i can’t even remember the last Friday twin double header day I missed but I would still greatly revel in a win over the Evil Empire.
But here’s the problem, I really don’t know what Maryland team will show up tomorrow night but as I said when I opened the show tonight where there is life there is hope. #5 did throw a 70 yard TD pass with 30 seconds left and no timeouts left.
I also really don’t know how the venom targeted towards the Terps can effect the sub conscious of the men in stripes. There is no conspiracy for sure, but Karl Hess & company hear the garbage and the blame all the time. Think I am crazy—watch the game. See who gets in foul trouble first Plumlee or Alex.
I know that I voted for Alex Len on the all defensive team and was a little surprised that 18 other members also voted Alex on. For the critics of Mr Len out there, watch how the inside is attacked every time Alex is on the bench.
I know that by 7 o’clock tomorrow night, Freddy and myself will have talked ourselves into believing victory was possible. Let’s get it on.

he’s a starting point guard. 2 assist wow! magic johnson who? please. yes he played better than he has in many games but let’s not make him out to be all american. it’s more like he didn’t hurt the team. they did win by 13.
now for duke. sure we can win. it’s still 5 on 5. ok they have better players. they have better coaching. that probably means they are over -confident. so how does md win? they have to want it more. they have to get loose balls. they need to pound the boards and they have to play tough defense. all 3 of those factors rely on hustle and heart more than skill. because let’s face it… you can’t rely on their shooting or passing. they’ll need some help, from yes, the refs. either plumlee, curry or kelly need to get into foul trouble and you can’t let sulaimon or cook have a big game. can md win? yes, but it’s a longshot. but longshots win once in a while.

a little more on pe’shon. one thing about howard was that he played with some confidence yesterday. pe’shon if you’re reading this. you’ve played well before. heck, you’ve played well most of your basketball career. that’s how you got a scholarship to go to college. playing well is nothing new to you. go out today with the attitude that you are the man, you control your destiny and duke isn’t going to stop you. play hard, play loose, play with a purpose and leave it all out on the floor. it may feel like life or death but it’s not. it’s just a game. go out and play like it’s a pick-up game in the driveway or on the school yard. go out and have fun. it’s basketball. you know you can do it. visualize the ball going into the hoop. visualize a good pass leading to a basket. visualize stopping cook or curry. see it in your mind. see it before it happens. now just go out and execute.

If Pe’shon can play with that attitude tonight, watch out. Look at Faust lately….his play seems to fit that description. Hopefully it’s contagious!
