I was greatly excited about the quarterfinal win for the Terps last night at Alabama. Why? Because of the way Coach Turgeon has these kids playing. There is no question that they are in it to win it.
May all of the critics of Alex Len please take the night off. Alex finished with 15 points, 13 rebounds, and 5 blocks. Those are NBA type numbers.
With Seth out, it was Jake Layman who stepped up tonight. Jake played a solid 33 minutes going 5-9 from the field, including 2 threes and more important being the point man on the press that is now starting to create some havoc. Jake had 3 of the 8 steals for Maryland .
Dez Wells had his usual game of late–13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 turnovers. Dez did hit 2-2 from the 3 point line.
It is great to watch the guys grow up as they have in the past few weeks.
Now let’s sit back and hope UVA wins its next game because should they be victorious, Maryland will play them next Tuesday night at the garden. That’s a rematch I really want because it was the loss to UVA that really crushed our NCAA hopes.
I anxiously await our date in the Mecca of Sports–Madison Square Garden.

what does that mean nba type numbers. len got these numbers in a college game against a small team. are you saying dez wells numbers weren’t nba type numbers guys in the nba have games where they get 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 turnovers and hit 2-2 from the 3 point line. any number a kifd gets in college a n nba pro can get but let’s not forget the difference in play between the nba and college.
