My gut feeling is Strasburg isn’t very physically or mentally tough. Though he has tremendous ability and talent I don’t think he’ll be an effective pitcher over the long haul. I see him pitching 3 years and losing it for whatever reason– physical and or mental. Hope I’m wrong because he has rare talent.
In 0ther news the Orioles won last night as Hammel won his 4th though he didn’t pitch that well. O’s look to be in good shape with 16 April wins and a starting pitching rotation that has been very average. The o’s do not have a number one or even a number two starter. Tampa has price and moore, NY has cc and kuroda, Boston has bucholtz and lester. O’s have a bunch of 3-4-5 pitchers but a great bullpen. By the way mark reynolds had 8 hr’s and 22 rbi’s in april. Who knows what the rest of the year will bring but his numbers probably come close to or exceed the O’s dh, 2nd base and catcher’s numbers combined for the first month of the season.
