It was a very good weekend being in Anaheim for the last 2 games. Manny and JJ Hardy each hit 2 run homers to project the O’s into a lead they never relinquished.
The best news of the day was the return to the lineup of Chris Davis after missing the last 2 games. Chris delivered a key 2 out hit to stretch the lead to 6-4.
Jason Hammel dodged trouble all day. He allowed 9 hits and 4 runs in 6 innings but stuck around long enough to get the W.
Darren O’Day was able to close the game for his 1st save but more moor tangly allowed JJ to have the day off.
The attendance was announced at 38,000 but no way there was more then 25,000 there. Certainly there way more O’s fans present on Sunday. I ran across 1 O’s fane with a #21 Sammy Sosa jersey.
In the last 2 games of the series the Orioles hit 5 HRs basically in the same spot in left center.
So let me grade the venue
Access and egress—A no trouble getting in or out–ample parking
Fan friendly to the O’s fans. A- No factor
Food. B. Camden Yards better and cheaper
Ticket prices–C for lower seats between the bases as they are $$70 plus
Overall. B. the stadium is old but the weather makes up for anything
Max
Huge road trip. O’s have had issues out West in the past but were able to buck that trend here. I would have been happy with 6-5 and honestly would have been ok with 5-6. 7-4 makes me ecstatic.
