The season is done but before I leave it behind here’s is my expression of gratitude to our tremendous Senior Class.
Jesse Bernhardt–what superlatives can I add about Jesse’s performance as a Terp. Jesse never took a minute let alone a game off. Even today he took on Pannell 1 on 1 and more then held his on. Believe me Jesse will be the toughest guy to replace. The goo news is that Jesse will be playing for the bay hawks.
Owen Blye–I think back to his tremendous performance in the 2 Hopkins games last year. Owen complemented Joe Cummings and helped take the Terps to the Championship game. Owen is a first class guy.
Jake Bernhardt–Jesse’s older brother was Co Captain this year and joined perhaps the best midfield Maryland has had in years. Opponents were forced to double pole this group because of their dominance.
Curtis Holmes–As a Sophomore and Junior Curtis dominated the X position. Injuries plaqued Curtis throughout his career. Towards the end of this year Coach Tillman called on Curtis many times at crucial times of the final games. There will be a void without a Holmes on the team next year.
John Haus–Dave Cottle pried John Haus from Carolina 4 years ago and for his entire career John was tremendous in the midfield. When Mike Chanenchuk joined the team last year, these 2 formed a formidable duo .
Landon Carr–one of Quint Kessenich’s favorite players–Landon was always around the ball and played stellar defense throughout his career.
Kevin Cooper –one of the toughest guys on the team–Kevin was moved to attack this year and immediately impacted the offense with his rocket shooting and interior passing. Kevin was also drafted by the Bayhawks.
Billie Gribbin–a transfer from Penn State, Billie mad an immediate offensive impact last year on attack which continued through his Senior season
Mike Scheeler —a Calvert Hall graduate and defender for the Terps. Mike’s attitude was stellar throughout his career at Maryland.
Thank You Seniors for a great ride!!!!!
