It was bound to happen. JJ who has been incredible this year finally pitched a bad inning in the role as the closer. When he gave up the tying run, I was on the phone with freddie stating Buck should pull him. A hit batter and a single later we lost. Save situation tomorrow–JJ is still the man.
as i told bruce on the phone you don’t pull jj. he’s the best you’ve got. if your pitcher gets in trouble and you don’t allow him to pitch out of adversity you’re showing no confidence and players don’t want to play for a mgr who doesn’t have confidence in you. jj didn’t pitch well and yet he was one pitch from pitching out of trouble.
