Brooke Griffin scored with 3 minutes left and the Terps stalled out the last 3 minutes to defeat the most well prepared team the team faced all year, Gary Gait and Syracuse. The Terps led most of the way but could never really put separation in the score. Credit to Syracuse for isolating its best players 1 on 1 producing many goals.
Just a few comments:
The stoppage of play by the officials was insufferable. I have never seen so many discussions or stick checks.
Alex Aust and Katie played like the best players in the country, which they are.
Again all the talent contributed. Kelly McPartland scored 3–2 in a crucial part of the game.
