Like I have said, just let us know who has signed, not who is on the radar. As it become apparent that Turg is just not winning highly competitive recruiting battles.

to mike…why isn’t turg winning recruiting battles. well one reason is maryland isn’t an elite basketball program. i’m sure md fans will disagree but that’s out of blind loyalty or stupidity. no one has more love and passion for md than i do but i can look at things (most times) with some objectivity. my guess is kids want to play in the ncaa tourney. most high school kids have followed college basketball since…let’s say they were 8 or 9. so over the last 8-9 years how many times has md been in the big dance? since 2004 md made the dance 4 times and missed 5 times and in those 4 appearances never made it to the sweet 16. as for turge, at his previous stops he has been successful in the w-l category but i don’t recall his teams getting blue chippers. so there is no track record there for getting elite talent. hill and ransom are considered great recruiters and it seems md has been in play for some 4 and 5 star plaers but md hasn’t closed the deal. is it that turge can’t close, or md isn’t as appealing as say kentucky, duke, nc? we know ky, duke and nc are big time. no clue about turge’s closing ability. so bottom line is md needs to get to the dance and do well to open the eyes up of recruits and get themselves in a mindset that they want to come to md. success breeds success and so far md as a program hasn’t been real successful in recent years and turge, though successful other places hasn’t had real success at college park. that said if barton was really good he’d be in the draft this year because anyone who has 3 yrs college experience in college and is good would be a first round pick this year. and barton who spent the last few years in memphis, well maybe he likes being away from home.
