The Maryland football team nabbed its fifth recruit for the class of 2014 late Saturday night, picking up an oral commitment from Ohio tight end Andrew Gray, according to multiple reports.
The 6-feet-4, 215-pound Gray had offers from Louisville, Bowling Green and Ball State, according to 247sports.com. Ranked the 47th-best tight end nationally by that particular recruiting service, Gray visited College Park this week to follow up on a Terrapins offer received in early May.
According to the News-Herald, Gray caught just 12 passes for less than 200 yards in 12 games for the Hilltoppers last season, but was described as a “tough, hard-nosed tight end who can move defensive linemen off the ball, while still having the ability to have soft hands to catch the ball.” from Alex Prewitt in the Washington Post

the way that’s wriiten it seems like having soft hands is a big plus for a d.e. a local kid from ft. lauderdale just signed with mich. his final list included ala., ga. and florida st. now the kid md signed might and i hope turns out to be a good player but going to the big ten i think you need kids who are being sought by national powers not ball st and bowling green
