In this day and age the Orioles and the citizenry of Baltimore are lucky to have Chris Davis, a real baseball hero. Chris has been tested in every way for steroids—he’s clean. He has repeatedly denied ever using any illegal drugs. He is not Bonds, McGwire, Sosa, Sequi, Palmiero, Giambi, Arod, on and on. Crush is a true baseball hero and he is an Oriole.

first calling davis a real baseball hero? why is he a hero? secondly, he could be on drugs even though he’s being tested. most of the makers of these drugs are always a step ahead of those trying to detect them. but i think he’s clean. he’s a good size guy but he deosn’t look like sosa, bonds or mcguire looked when they we
re on juice. he doesn’t look like david segui or brady anderson when brady some how hit 50 homers in one year. the problem with a majority of the fans is that they are ignorant about sports. people can follow the orioles every game, have a passion for the game but not really understand the nuances of the game, proper technique, history of the game, or strategy. most fans don’t know that davis had great numbers in the minors both for power and average. wasn’t real successful for the rangers because he didn’t play everyday and most guys when they come up don’t set the world on fire. it takes time for most players to adapt to major league pitching. l;ast yr was the first time he played everyday and he hit 33 hrs had about 82 rbi’s and hit around 270. he gained confidence and if anyone has any intelligence when you have confidence your performance is anything you ahve confidence in goes up. this yr he was put at first so he knows that hehas an everyday position. that helps a players confidence. he also began to become a smarter hitter, being more selective which comes from experience that he gained the year before. some may question how can he hit a ball so far swinging so easy. the people who ask that question don’t understand bat speed, which is the same as when you’re playing golf and creating club head swing. the easier your grip the bat and the more relaxed you are and the easier you swing you create greater bat of or club head swing. you’re letting the bat or club do the work. the more pressure you apply to a bat or club you take away the true arc of the bat/club and that effects power and hitting the ball cleanly. he also is hitting around guys who are hitting well so it’s hard to pitch around him. look if i asked you how you would position yourself properly if you were covering third base with a runner coming in to you most don’t know. if i asked you to show me how to hold the bat properly to bunt most don’t know., if i asked you how to catch a football or throw a football the right way most don’t know. what fans can ususlly tell you is if the score is balt 3 texas 1 and the game is over they know balt won. after that good luck. they just don’t know anywhere near what they thing they know. if managers listened to fans they’d be sitting in the uppoer deck next to a fan rather than sitting in the dugout next to a player. fans have a right to their opinions but they are off base a good deal of the time.

mike you are correct. that’s why most managers/coaches don’t read the newpaper or blogs. would make you crazy.

Sports are not an exact science, and we are lucky to have Buck, who keeps it real and honest.
But many managers/coaches as well as players are full of BS, especially when commenting on Steroids and the like.
Doesn’t mean they have to listen to fan criticism. But many times they exacerbate it ( players/ managers).
