i went to fox sports a couple times yesterday. stock car racing and ultimate fighting. wasn’t for me though i’m sure some love those sports. fox doesn’t have to surpass espn to make money and there’s probably no chance they’re going to surpass espn. espn has a 30 yr jump on fox plus they have espn 2 espnu espn classic. my guess is fox won’t come close to espn2 in viewership.
mike i’m not saying fox will fail . i’m sure they will do well but i can’t see them becoming bigger than espn anytime soon or ever. with the news networks can’t sign contracts with terrorists groups, countries, governments… to report exclusive stories on war, criminal acts, assinations, coup de’tat etc. espn has so many major sports locked up, so many major sporting events locked that draws in viewers. fox can only report on those events rather than broadcast them. if espn has the college football championship game how many millions of people are watching the game and how many are watching fox or cbs sports or nbcsports showing their reporters at the game or outside the stadium.
