Last night was the first time in 2 years that the body language of Buck postgame made me really worry. Any fan of the O’s can sense something is missing. The breaks are just not coming our way game after game. But like Buck said we must make our own breaks to turn this thing around.
Ryan Dempster was rightly suspended for 5 games. What’s worse is that he woke a sleeping team. The Yankees swept a doubleheader and now only trail the O’s by a game.
Nate McClouth is 1-26 —a slump your leadoff hitter just can’t have.
Buck admitted he thought Johnson is pressing but truthfully the 3 hits he allowed were not exactly howitzers. My thought was if you are willing to bring Johnson in the game why in the world start McFarlund in the 9th. Buck’s answer was that he was trying to save arms, though he admitted Johnson needed the work.
So the O’s are 67-58 and finish the series with Tampa on Wednesday. I believe this could be JUDGMENT DAY. The O’s must win this game before the downwards spiral ends the season.

it ain’t over til it’s over, but it sure starting to feel that it is. the o’s don’t seem to have ‘it” this year. having mcfarland start the ninth was a bad move. as a rule 5 player who should be in the minors he’s the kinda guy who shouldn’t be pitching in critical situations, yet here he was on the mound in a close game. o’s now have to jump 3 teams to make the playoffs. still doable but the team needs one good 7-9 game winning streak, something they haven’t had all year. people wrote off the indians a couple of weeks ago and yet they are still around. people wrote of the yankees yet they are still around. there is still time left. boston and oakland lost last night. there is still hope but the o’s need to right the ship tonight to get things going in the right direction. we need a little oriole magic.
