Let’s analyze this together. Top of the 9th , score tied at 3 in what again is another chance for the O”s to creep up on the struggling Rays. Jim Johnson is in the bullpen ready to go. As much as I have been on Johnson this year, lately he has been great getting all kinds of movement on the ball late according to Jim Palmer. The Yanks have Cano, Soriano, and then Granderson. I say to Donald Saiontz–you can’t let Hunter start this inning , he has given up way too many 9th inning HRs. Johnson is ready and this game is more then crucial. Buck elects to stay with Hunter. I predict HR for Cano. 2 pitches later Cano hits a HR. Matusz was ready, Johnson was ready but Hunter then stays in to give up a triple to Granderson that just misses going out. That’s what I don’t understand. Then he brings in Matusz. Meanwhile our best pitcher of the moment sits and watches the O’s lose again.
Perhaps it just doesn’t matter withthis bullpen. But then again the O’s had 13 hits and only 4 runs, failing to deliver time and time again with RISP.
Scott Feldman was superb again.
Manny made a ridiculously fantastic play in the 9th.

all year long you’ve been very very critical of johnson, even saying many times you can’t watch when he comes in. you’ve also advocated for hunter to be the closer may times this year so i’m throwing your comment and criticism out because you can’t have it both ways.
