GREENSBORO, N.C. Maryland junior linebacker L.A. Goree earned Atlantic Coast Conference Linebacker of the Week honors, the league announced on Monday. The native of Bowie, Md., had a career high and Maryland season-high 16 tackles in the Terps’ 27-26 win over Virginia on Saturday to move Maryland to 5-1 on the season. Of Goree’s 16 stops, nine were solo tackles and he added one tackle for a loss of two yards. Goree’s 16 tackles is the most by a Maryland player since Demetrius Hartsfield totaled 18 at NC State to close the 2011 season (Nov. 26, 2011).
