We’ve got to get a lot better this week, make sure we don’t have turnovers like last week…know we’ll be playing a well-coached, disciplined Wake team coming off a win against NC State…we look forward to the opportunity to go down and get another win…
On Craddock
Brad came here from Australia and was more of a punter than place kicker, though he did both. He’s worked very, very hard and all teh credit goes to him. I’ve been very pleased with his progress. he’s striking the ball well, kicking with confidence and hope that will continue
On CJ
he was cleared sunday, practiced and practiced yesterday. he’s ready to go and he’ll take all the snaps
on Wake’s O-line and offense
Tanner price is an outstanding QB who played real well against NC State. i’m real impressed with Michael Campanero and what he can do. and their o-line is really coming together as a the season goes on. it will be a tremendous opportunity for our defense to go against them.
…Jim [Grobe] and his coaches are outstanding coaches and they design ways to get [Campanero] the ball in a lot of different areas, short, intermediate, deep, motioning, lined up on the boundary. so they make it difficult for you. he’s a decoy sometimes as well. so you just do your best to neutralize him.
…then Orville Reynolds and Armstrong, they have other guys who can [make plays]. it’s a tremendous challenge for us.
on coaches’ poll
I’m really not in favor of the coaches polls. i think what happens is when you get into polls with people voting, you get bias…people might rank people in their conference a little higher. i think you need independent people and put the decision in their hands. they have the best interest of the sport in mind, so i like what the committee is doing watching the raw film and deciding what teams belong there… I can’t do a fair evaluation; we as coaches can’t evaluate all 119 teams to see who deserves and who doesn’t. we have enough work to do with our own team in my opinion
on bowl eligible
we’re just focused on trying to get win No. 6. we’ll evaluate the whole season in totality. after you win them, you put them in the bank and after the season you see where you’re at.
