The No. 8 Maryland women’s basketball team controlled both ends of the floor from the tip Saturday in a 100-59 rout of Texas Southern in the San Juan Shootout Friday in Puerto Rico.
Preseason All-American Alyssa Thomas led Maryland (6-1) with 23 points and 10 rebounds for her sixth straight double-double in the Terps’ first seven games. Freshman Shatori Walker-Kimbrough added a new career-high 17, while senior Katie Rutan notched 14, all in the second half. Senior Alicia DeVaughn scored 11. Point guards Brene Moseley and Lexie Brown had nine and eight assists, respectively.
